About FontLab

Most of the professional digital fonts in the world have been created with FontLab products.

Fontlab Ltd., Inc. (FontLab for short) was first established in 1992 as Pyrus, N.A., but changed the name a few years later. The flagship product, FontLab (now called FontLab Studio) proved very popular with professional type designers, and over the years the company added more type design products to its catalog, including ScanFont (1994), SigMaker (1996), TypeTool (1997), TransType (1999), and BitFonter (2003), and acquired Fontographer (2005). FontLab now occupies the leading role worldwide in computer typography tools with more type design products on more platforms in more languages than any other company.
